Magestic Waterfalls in Iceland

Iceland is not only endowed with majestic waterfalls. Indeed Godafoss and Gullfoss are two of the most impressive on this magical land.

Godafoss, the ‘Water of the Gods’ is tucked away between Akureyri and Lake Myvatn, in the north east of the island. The moment you arrive there after a long trekking route, you are gobsmacked in wonder and awe: an incredible sight of pure water roaring down, descending unto a pool of deep turquoise-coloured silky surface at the base of the waterfall.

Gullfoss, the Golden Waterfall, offers equally a spectacular view of the forces and wonder of untouched nature, for which Iceland is renowned. Gullfoss is located in the south of the island, on the Hyita river, which is fed by Langjokul, Iceland’s second biggest glacier.
